“Tong” is the Japanese name of Tokyo. “Tai” is the short version of Taiwan.

In 2004, Tong Tai acquired Honor Seiki, the No. 1 manufacturer of CNC Vertical Turning Lathes.
Tong Tai designs and manufacturers a complete line of CNC machine tools ranging from CNC lathe to Horizontal Machining Centers, including CNC Vertical Turning Lathes.
Tong Tai is headquartered in Taiwan, with offices in seven countries and agencies all over the world.
